"Charming Disaster balances smart pop songs against a confident stage presence, sort of a swagger, that suggest the two people out front are destined for great things...these people are overflowing with musical ideas that simply defy categorization." The Vinyl Anachronist
A musical duo based in Brooklyn, NY, formed in 2012 by singer/songwriters Ellia Bisker and Jeff Morris, Charming Disaster's inspirations include the gothic humor of Edward Gorey and Tim Burton, the noir fiction of Raymond Chandler, the murder ballads of the Americana tradition, and the dramatic flair of the cabaret. They achieved cult status when their paranormal love song Ghost Story was featured on the creepy hit podcast Welcome to Night Vale. Since then their theatrical, entertaining live performances have engaged audiences across the United States. SPELLS + RITUALS, releasing on June 7, 2019, is their third full-length album.
Melora Creager is a cellist/pianist/singer-songwriter. She has been recording and touring with her anachronistic cello-rock ensemble, Rasputina, for years and years and years. She played in the band Nirvana on their final European tour and has played with other such luminaries as Marilyn Manson, Cheap Trick, Joan Osborne and Belle & Sebastian.
